You have more to contribute.

Perhaps colleagues already turn to you for guidance. Perhaps you are considering a formal leadership role, or you have applied for one and wondered why your experience was not enough to move you forward. You may simply want a clearer sense of what comes next.

Beyond the Classroom is written for educators ready to take a more intentional approach to their leadership growth.

  • Experienced teachers exploring their next professional chapter.
  • Teacher leaders, mentors, and instructional coaches seeking broader influence.
  • Educators who want their contributions and leadership potential to be recognized.
  • Aspiring school and district leaders preparing for future opportunities.

Prepare for the leadership opportunities ahead.

How do you help others understand the value of your experience? How do you strengthen your influence? What does it mean to be ready to lead?

Beyond the Classroom explores these questions through Brenda A. Walker's perspective as an educator, district leader, union president, coach, and mentor. It encourages educators to think intentionally about how they show up, contribute, and prepare for greater responsibility.

Visibility

Consider how you communicate your contributions and help others recognize the value you bring.

Influence

Reflect on how your relationships, voice, and everyday actions shape your ability to lead.

Leadership Readiness

Think intentionally about the growth and preparation your next leadership opportunity may require.
